Meet Our Team

We want you to feel comfortable with the provider you count on.

Dr. John Sanders is board certified in family medicine. He recently moved from Moab, Utah where he has spent the past six years immersed in the broad scope of rural medicine with obstetrics. He is often found on the football field or the basketball court where his undergrad degree in sports injury management makes him a natural sideline doc.

In addition to sports medicine, Dr. Sanders also has a special emphasis on dermatology within his practice. He holds frequent skin clinics, diagnoses and treats hundreds of skin cancers a year, and works to promote healthy habits in dermatology among his patients. He also loves obstetrics and pediatrics and enjoys establishing lasting relationships with growing families.

Dr. Sanders studied at an osteopathic medical school in Florida and offers osteopathic musculoskeletal manipulations as part of his holistic approach to helping patients of all ages.
His hobbies outside the clinic include playing a multitude of sports such as soccer, volleyball and mountain biking. He and his wife enjoy playing guitar and singing together in their family band.
He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and knowledgeable in Spanish.

“Dr. Sanders was my family doctor from 2013-2017 and delivered both my children in Moab. He was always professional and competent, yet patient and empathetic at the same time. Dr. Sanders was quick to recognize that we live in a remote area and do not have immediate access to further care if needed. I knew that he would always put my family’s well-being first, even if that meant referring us elsewhere for treatment. I would not hesitate to use Dr. Sanders as a primary care physician or obstetrician for my family if I had the choice.”

“I met Dr. Sanders in 2011 as he delivered my friend’s child after a non-progressing home birth. I was impressed with his empathy and patience for my friend who had labored at home for nearly a week. Dr. Sanders was patient enough to give her time to deliver a healthy baby girl. After going through this entire experience with my friend, I did not hesitate to use him as my obstetrician when I became pregnant two years later. I had an uncomplicated pregnancy, labor and delivery with Dr. Sanders as my physician. When my daughter was 14 months, Dr. Sanders admitted us to the hospital with a fever of unknow origin. It turned out to be a kidney infection, likely stemming from a urinary tract infection. With Dr. Sanders’s referral, we sought further testing at the University of Utah and were diagnosed with an underlying issue which we treated for another year. I am grateful to Dr. Sanders for referring us to specialist as she would have gone untreated.”

“Fast forward two years to another uncomplicated pregnancy. Labor was slow to progress, though again, Dr. Sanders was patient throughout the process. My daughter’s heart rate dipped dangerously low with each contraction but he was present and monitoring each one. I could tell he was nervous but I felt confident that he would make the right call to assure my baby was delivered safely. According to my friend who was there (obviously I couldn’t see it), she came out and he unwrapped the chord from her neck in one fluid motion. My friend said it was truly amazing to witness.”

“Dr. Sanders was our family doctor from 2013-2017. I always found him professional and competent, and he had a fantastic rapport with my children. I was also lucky enough to call him my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations outside of his office. He was thoughtful, intelligent and caring. The line between doctor and friend became blurry a few times and he was always gracious and empathetic and I couldn’t be more appreciative of that.”
